Professional x Personal – There are said to be two types of self-portraits, professional and personal. Self-Promotional portraiture is used to adverts what an artist can do, what their skills consist of. Personal consists of artists creating a portrait that contains a narrative (mortality, biblical referencing) or in a open state. Through this I would compare these two main types of portraiture, then breaking down into more sub sections. This idea can relate to the new technologies used to create a personal identity on the internet. With new technology being created there are more ways to show a new identity on the internet.
